The Big Little Want

The vastness of the universe is placed into context in this book about what we want, what we need, and ultimately what we already have. For a young girl with a birthday around the corner, it seems that bigger must be better when it comes to asking for a birthday present. It can be hard to imagine something bigger than a shopping mall, and even harder to picture how big the world or the universe are. But the love of a parent is bigger than all those ‘big things’ put together. Artist Kriti Monga uses watercolour drawings and hand calligraphy to bring DeSuza’s text to life, conveying an important message about love in a world in which ‘wanting’ seems to have no end.
